        a) Calzaghe at super-middle has a far worse resume than Froch.
        b) The Manfredo fight is the ultimate blueprint for early stoppages.

I still think that Calzaghe would be the favourite against Froch prime for prime, but only because of the style matchup, not because Calzaghe is a definitively better fighter.

Certainly didn't need two attempts to beat an older, more faded version of Kessler.

Unlike Joe, Carl fights anyone anywhere.

We can make a proper assessment on Carl Froch because he's shown the willingness to fight the tougher opponents for the last 5-years. Since '08 when he fought Pascal, he's consistently boxed at the higher level with fights against Taylor, Dirrell, Johnson, Kessler, Abraham, Ward, Bute etc. Whilst I still have criticism towards Froch's style and somewhat flaky wins, his resume speaks for itself.

The same can't be said for Joe Calzaghe. A guy who won the vacant title in 1997 and took NINE years to Unify against Lacy. That gap highlights Calzaghe's career at 168lbs. Froch's resume surpasses what Calzaghe has done at 168. To Calzaghe's credit, he beat a game Kessler at home, there's a very questionable SD over Hopkins, and that's pretty much his 2 best wins.

Other fights in the sport have achieved padded out records. There's a lot of fluff when you look at an Ottke, Dariusz M or Brian Nielsen. The same fluff is projected through Calzaghe's career. Likewise in Hatton's career.

Based on CVs: Froch > Calzaghe

But Calzaghe probably pitty pats his way to a 12-round decision over Froch.

After his last fight, Carl will prove to be more "selective", I guess...

Cuz joe fought kess in Wales. Froch had the courage to travel to Denmark. When he got home advantage like Carl he win.. If you wanna compare opponents though a lot of people thought Reid beat joe but Froch destroyed Reid

Both are great so let's not resort to this

The supposed Froch vs Groves II would surely involve negotiations over the purses split...
Groves won £500,000 (about $810,000) from the fight last Saturday. It's obvious he would ask for a bigger payday, as taking into account the manner in which the ref "stopped" the fight...

Reid was in his prime when he fought Calzaghe and shot to **** when he fought Froch. Not really the same?

Also Calzaghe originally agreed to go to Denmark but Kessler's people realised there was more money in Wales. Froch was contracted to go to Denmark as part of the Super Six.

Really had nothing to do with the outcome though, did it? Calzaghe dominated and embarrassed an undefeated Kessler. Froch had two close, back n forth fights with an older Kessler.
