Early stoppage? Yes. Groves to last another 3 rounds? Doubt it...

    Agree entirely.

IMO, there's no way Groves get's out those last 3 rounds.

I doubt he even get's out of that round to be honest.

After Magomed, I will always support early stoppages if a fighter is being hurt. And Groves was hurt.

I think Froch would have gotten rid of Groves soon after the quick stoppage but Groves had a huge lead in a championship fight and should have gotten every opportunity to try and make it the distance.

Then why didn't the ref stop the fight in the 1st when Froch was even more hurt?

          Shit logic. Go to bed.

I would say if it was round 9, the ref would likely stop it IMO. British refs are notorious for a stoppage and waving it off maybe earlier than the rest of the World.

If Groves got hurt like that is round 1, I don't think it would be stopped.

Froch maybe won round 3, won the 2 rounds before and that one at the time. He was in a good position and was starting to land some flush shots.

            Just speculation.

Froch went down, took the count - and then responded when the ref asked. Those are the rules. Plus, rnd 1 is different to round 9. CF was fresh, when GG was hurt - it was deep into the fight.

And Groves had taken a lot of punishment at that point unlike Froch in Round 1.

Not that the stoppage wasn't bad because it was but it's not the same as Froch being dropped in the first round.

Anyone who thinks a referee should allow a fighter to risk long term injury is a fool. Groves was not firing back. Period.

Froch fans are becoming really annoying today. You got some saying the scorecards are legit, then others like this guy saying he wasn't firing back? Did you even watch the fight kid? Groves was throwing back, do you want me to show you the gif and make you look ******?
