Terrible stoppage, robbed Froch of an impressive (convincing) comeback. There was nothing convincing about the stoppage. He didn't even get knocked down or got a count.

Groves put on a clinic for 7 rounds, I think he was robbed.

"why are people complaining of the stoppage?" -joe calzaghe who then looks around nervously and burns his career box set

Fix was in from the start. Two of the judges had Froch down by only one which IMO is more disgraceful than that disgraceful stoppage. If anything Froch should have been stopped in the first but whatever. We're getting pretty used to this **** with Matchroom events these days.

Let me also say none of this is Carl's fault. He doesn't have anything to do with the judges and ref but deep down he knows he got his arse beat by Groves lastnight.

CALZAGHE has never recived a present like FROCH has recived last night,FROCH was losing the fight badly,CALZAGHE was winning ever when the stoppage was premature like vs MANFREDO JR. when JOE was winning every round easy!!!
Comparing CALZAGHE to this robotic fighter (FROCH) is an insult!

You're right, the robbery was in the start but GROVES was so good that ruined HEARN's plans, with that KD in the first round i think HEARN was almost die. This fight is a huge bad mark in FROCH's carrer, the champion has been dominated and he isn't able to change his game plan at all,FROCH is a B-level world champion. The undeafeted KESSLER that CALZAGHE played with,he should have been stopped FROCH indeed. GROVES is a tough and very good boxer,ENGLAND has to be proud to have a boxer like him.

I would also add that I feel Froch should retire. His speech at the end of the fight sounded punch drunk - reminded me of De Niro's portrayal of Jake LaMotta at the end of his career.
That's not true. Link one post that says groves would put froch on the back foot and beat him up before being stopped late.

I know a few people suspected groves could nick a few rounds early on by outboxing froch, but the way he took it to him defied the expectation of the majority.
