At best the ref should of gave Groves a standing 8 count. This was a terrible stoppage. And a championship fight at that? The ref should definitely have his license revoked and eyes triple checked. At this point I consider him deaf, dumb and blind. This sad when two warriors fight and they don't get a fair shake. It Kills boxing as a sport when the fight is left within the hands of idiotic ref's and blind judges..

I honestly think that 1st round knock down not only hurt Froch, but it might have concussed him. Dude was shaky after that, not fighting like he usually does, and after the fight he kept rambling on and on pointlessly. Dude was hurt.

I suspect that too. Though Groves beat the living crap out of Froch; in a rematch, I favor Froch if he avoids the big right the first round. He looked on shaking legs the whole fight, kinda like Bradley vs Ruslan.

Again read my reply to the other dude who thought I was comparing the two fights..and if I didn't watch the fight why would I be here defending a ref making a stoppage? Just because the guys most people wanted to win didn't get the win it doens't mean he lost, he won because he wasn't left damaged good. The funny thing is had the ref let it go and Groves ends up in a hospital all you folks would be in here screaming that it should've been stopped. He gets a chance to rematch or continue his career which is more than other fighters have gotten when fights aren't stopped. If you can accept a stoppage when it suits the boxer you support or bet on be man enough to accept a stoppage when it doesn't favor you or your pick. It's damn if the ref's stop a fight and damn if they don't.

Groves fell into the ropes because Froch pushed him...

It is a possibility the ref didn't see the push and only saw Groves going into the ropes. You know as I do that refs have to make snap decisions they don't have time to analyze everything that happens in 3 seconds.

I have been seeing fights stopped earlier and earlier in the UK. Especially favoring the favorite. This beats the 8 count in the Chisora fight by a mile.
