Ton of potential. He can be champ. Needs to lose some weight and hone his skills.

Can't just be ready to hug him like Povetkin did the whole time.
He is fast and works of the clinch very effective. Seen him ko lots of guys like that. He has as good of shot as any heavy weight to beat wladimir. War ruiz he will make history by becoming the first mexican champ

Very talented prospect. I think he is the best of the lot. Its really remarkable how people are so willing to let their prejudices color their judgments. When Toney fought Rahmen they were as much a contrast with respect to body type as could be: Rahman was built in shape, Toney was considered fat beyond credability...Anyone have a look at the punch stat numbers for that fight? guess who threw more punches?

Ruiz has a lot of speed, he needs to make sure that he learns to fight inside. His physical profile should always be a secondary consideration when compared to his actual durability and endurance. I think he will shed more as he trains harder...at his age he really is still going through physiological development.

He'll be ready, or someone will put him to sleep. No mercy in this game. He has talent, some skill, speed (power). The only question is dedication. Will he give himself the best chance. Not just get ready for fights, live the life.

Andy can box, great hand speed and has power, I wouldn't say he needs to get to 220, I'd say stick around to 230-235 so he can create space with the taller guys, he's been boxing all his life so he's not a late bloomer or one of these dudes that used to play football and started in their late teens or mid 20's

Anything can happen when you have skills and power and are not looking for that one lucky KO punch, I've seen lots of HW prospects in the past 5-10 years but I've never seen a HW throw a 4-5 punch combo in a flash like Andy

              A ganar Andy!!

Theres been fat decent mexican heavyweights before. This guy isn't the fastest, hardest hitting or skilled. Must be an inside joke like the Ali Raymi thing.

Last fat kid I seen do OK was the guy that almost beat Travis Walker.

a win over prospect joe hanks & one of tor hamer would be good at this point. if he beats hamer then he will be in line for a bigger fight. i like it when guys like hamer, hanks & ruiz fight each other. chris arreola did the same thing coming up. he fought all the other prospects coming up & proved to be the best of the bunch at the time. andy ruiz is close to doing the same... interesting prospect. the new tony tubbs?

There is no one faster than ruiz maybe haye. He has great fundamentals and his combos are a thing of beauty.
