I mean I am just basing this off of logical progression and actual wins in the ring, no bias and I do think Roy would have handled the best version of Dariusz without much trouble but can anyone explain how he was ever really lineal champ regardless of whether he was probably the best LHW or not?

Yep... that lineal title @ Light Heavyweight that most have been claiming as the legit Light Heavyweight championship over the past 10 years was an illegitimate claim created by the RING For Roy Jones after he beat #3 rated Eric Harding i believe, when there was already a clear lineal champ in the division. Although Roy was without a doubt the best & most accomplished fighter in the division. He wasn't the legit lineal champ. DM was... then Gonzalez... then Erdei...then...Grachev...then Rodriguez... Russian, you can't vacate a lineal title like an ABC strap you either have to lose it or never fight again at the weight class.
