I remember watching the fight live and scrambled! Lol I was like 12 and didn't get to go to my uncles place. All I will say is that from listening to the commentators, da la Hoya was whooping thatass lol, and I was joyous but shocked that Tito was announced the winner. But watching it again a few years later i remember thinking Tito won the final rounds but I still felt Oscar should have won it. I am Rican and never biased, just a boxing fan.
De La Hoya vs. Trinidad Revelations

Honestly, no more then a draw at best for Tito or a close win for Oscar. He gave away the last three n I gave Tito three of the first 9. He barley won those while Oscar dominated the rds he won. Still gave away the fight n I'm glad he didn't get the decision. What he did was disgusting. Literally ran away from Tito like a b1tch.Comment

Tito is my fav fighter but there's no way he won that fight
The fight itself was disappointing, just like almost every "superfight"Comment

I thought Oscar won myself but it's not a robbery. Especially considering the last 4 rounds. That's the way I remember it. I saw the fight when it first aired and haven't re-watched since. Always meant to, but never did. I didn't score, but I remember thinking three things just before the decision was announced: 1. Oscar should narrowly win; 2. A draw would be fair; 3. A Trinidad decision wouldn't shock me. As everyone knows, De La Hoya threw away the fight in the last few rounds by literally running. Oscar really didn't even have to engage all that much. It was a strategy that will always haunt him.
People act like he dominated the first 8 rounds
Just simply not true.
Then put on the track shoes for the championship rounds. "A masterpiece" apparently.Comment

Me and you are about the same age..I think I was 12,anyway..I thought a more fair outcome would have been a draw tho..I thought Oscar won the first 6rds and Oscar just enough to lose the last 6rds..IMO a draw or a oscar win would have been the fair outcome..Seen the fight 3 times, once was live as a 10 year old and Oscar was the man, he totally dominated Tito, not exactly a great fight but Oscar gave Tito a lesson in there. Out jabbed, out worked and out landed...how the hell did Tito win again? Every time I see the fight I can't give Tito more than 3 or 4 rounds and I like Tito, one of the best welterweights post Leonard/Hearns/Benitez but *** me, he should never have won that fight.Comment
