No, I'm saying boxing has consequences. It's a violent sport, and to encourage and reward violence even further is inhumane. Boxers put their lives on the line, but lets not extends these risks further in the name of money. The fighters I mentioned, in a coma or dead, are that way because of the punishment they took or a knockout they suffered. Now, we have promoters trying to encourage that same kind of punishment or KO in the name of money. Think about that for a second.Comment

This is boxing bro, its the hurt business! Fighters know what the risk is and the CHOOSE to do it. They are already encouraged by their team, fans and promoters to fight. Same with reward thats why tjey get paid for it. The only thing wrong with the KO bonus is that it is like the UFC like the other poster said. But your attributing injuries to the KO bonus and nobody has even gotten hurt on those cards......
one plus one doesnt equal appleComment

Yeah, okay. You should hear yourself say that, "death and serious injury is part of the sport." Like I said, think before you speak. We should try to prevent injury and death as much as possible. This isn't "Street Fighter" or some tough guy action movie, this is a sport with human beings and consequences. I understand boxing is violent, but to pay and extra $100,000 as an incentive for a fighter to hurt or KO his opponent is ******. I guess you like the $100,000 bonus because it's not you getting knocked out or getting seriously hurt. It's easy to be the tough guy when their is no consequence for you. It's part of combat sports man. If you are that sensitive and sentimental, stop watching combat sports and focus on passive activities. I tell that to Golovkin, Bam Bam, Margarito, Cotto, Thurman, Duran, Hagler... and many more and they would all smile and sign an autograph for me.
Ugh, I ****ing hate soft people man. No offense. This sport is not for you.Comment

Boxers rarely get injured due to a ko, in many cases it's just the end result. The real problem is the accumulation of punches where your brains swells up and causes serious injuries. Look at a guy like Pacquiao who got knocked out cold yet is cleared to fight less than a year later while Mago was never even knocked down yet due to all the power punches he ate is never going to be the same man again. There's no problem with a ko the real issues is taking severe punishment.Comment

Maybe we should just ban head shots altogether? Or are you then just gonna complain about liver damage?Comment

I hear ya, bro. Taking punishment is not cool. However, getting knocked out doesn't seem too healthy, either. I think about Roy Jones getting knocked out. I am sure those knockouts really affected him. So, I think knockouts do have a impact on a fighters health and well being. But, I hear what you are saying about taking punishment throughout a tough 12 round fight.Boxers rarely get injured due to a ko, in many cases it's just the end result.
