Yeah, Golovkin looked bad is a single fight and still almost killed the guy.
I don't know how to you define a tough fight, but Ouma would have never won that fight. Not on scores or otherwise.

and for your info, GGG is already a big thing in the sport. Check HBO ratings of his last fight.

I never argued that Ouma was in a position to win that fight and even acknowledged that he took a severe beating down the stretch, but the notion that he was dominated throughout and didn't have a lot of success in those first five rounds simply isn't true.

And yes, Golovkin is definitely the big thing as far as hype and publicity is concerned. HBO and his team have done a wonderful job in marketing him over the last year, and I can see the appeal myself.

Ouma had already won around 5 rounds by the time the fight was stopped, gave GGG hell. If Ouma were in his prime I'd have picked him to win it.

GGG can easily be drawn into a brawl if you can take his power, if a past prime blown up JMW can do it there is no reason a SMW can't. It's why I laugh when people say he can beat guys like Froch.

Some guys just won't quit though and look how Ouma turned out. GG doesn't fight now how he fought Ouma then. I'm not going to argue about the Froch part, I'm not one of these GG fans that say he'll beat everybody. It would be a good fight though.

I think he's the same fighter, however we've yet to really see when someone actually hold their ground, we even saw Stevens with some success. His power is so great that he can back people up at will, coming forward is when he's at his absolute best.

I think prime martinez outboxes him but not this version, I don't see anybody at MW beating him. If anybody is going to beat him it'll be the bigger, stronger, more durable guys of the SMW division.

GGG would beat ouma again,, no sense in a rematch

ggg is also very exciting but he is flawed defensively,, I actually had a dream last night, that on the tv was wrestlemania and on the card serg was fighting ggg, and serg was tagging him, and ggg kept coming but was getting tagged left and right and even buckled,, was this a premonition of things to come???????

I think he manages his distance better now than when he fought Ouma. He seemed to be smothering his punches a lot of the time. I'm still not sure we've seen what GG can really do. Yeah Stevens landed some good shots but a lot of what I thought landed on first watch, didn't land that clean upon subsequent viewings. I'm not going to get into what a prime Martinez could/would/should do debate. It's now that matters and I don't think he'd be able to handle GG. I would like Gennady to eventually move up though. I think he'd fare well.

That's hilarious. Ouma is never beating GGG.

Now you're wrong: Ward wanted to cherry pick Dimitri Sartison, but HBO ordered him to fight Rodriguez...

I used to laugh as well, but now I see it's a serious opinion among serious posters. I have to try to reason with logic, talk about the size differential of 160 and 168 fighters on fight night, the difference in height and reach, the chins, the difference in pro experience between Froch, Kessler, Ward, Bika, and Golovkin. Bring up the difference between Rosado(Non top 10), Ishida(Non top 10), and Stevens(#9) and Ward(Champion), Froch(#1), Kessler(#2).

It has been a difficult task to debate about this. I feel like Rick Grimes going against a horde of Walkers. My only hope is when GG's competition gets better at 160 and he starts looking more ordinary, maybe that's when people will start getting cured.

A whole different ballgame that people just don't understand how some skills of a fighter will be there against low level opponents, but not be there against high caliber fighters. A really good example is Miguel Cotto and his notorious body punching, it was there for Gomez, Jennings, Judah, Foreman, and his early fights, but I predicted that his body punching would be non-existent against Mosley, Margarito(1), Clottey, Pacquiao. Sure enough, go back to see those fights, no body punching from Cotto, the fighters were of high caliber and wouldn't let him do such a thing. People probably picture Golovkin vs Ishida, Rosado, Stevens, Macklin and think "That's exactly how he would look against Froch, Kessler, Ward, Murray" etc.

I've given up. Hopefully the top guys "step up" to Golovkin, because Golovkin is some one you step up to cause he's a future HOF'er? ATG? a big Draw? a great resume? So I guess you step up to him. I don't know how that works, I mean he is a Super champion after all, he beat ummm (BRB)....Okay so he beat Milton Nunez for the vacant Interim WBA title and then Nelson Julio Tapia for the actual WBA title.

There you go, I knew I had the names in the tip of my tongue, just needed Boxrec to remind me. *sarcasm*
