I had this sneaking su****ion that GGG was really a bum, and this confirms it. 8 losses in the amateurs? This guy is shít.

Golovkin doesn't even know what his amateur record is. Amateur records are never accurate. GGG says he's lost "about 5 times" when asked.

Not sure why anyone would get upset with the messenger about some information that may indicate GGG had 8 losses. I thought it was interesting to see who GGG fought in the AM's.

We agree on Mora. The point is he called out GGG and HBO said no, IMO because it would be an ugly fight that may not produce a KO and that could affect the push they are giving him.

If HBO is doing that for him, why would anyone complain if the management of other fighters does similar?

HBO wants to elevate GGG just because they decided to give him a push. DOesn't work like that. See, Broner, Adrien and SHowtime. You can't just make someone the man in a division just because you want him to be the face of your network.

Exactly Dan. They love to overrate their hero with Superman stories.

You don't need to face Sergio Mora to be The Man in the division. He's not top 10, and recently lost 2 fights to Brian Vera (disputed, I know). Could be HBO simply thinks it's a **** fight and a waste of their money, consistent with their long time position on Sergio Mora.

They've attempted to match him with much better names like Macklin, Murray, Quillin, Geale, Rubio etc, but even HBO can't make all these guys sign the contract. Macklin was approached on multiple occasions, and finally HBO's pressure bore fruit.

You say ''wow really 8 losses!'' now but as soon as GGG losses just one fight in the pros we all know most of you will be straight off the bandwagon trashing the guy.

But yh go to the front page, another opponent calling out Golovkin.
That is Froch, Mora & Ouma in the space of two weeks.

I agree with you on Mora herobando. you also dont need to face GGG to be the man either.

I just find it deceptive to market him as the most avoided fighter when you will not approve the guys who do call him out.

As for better matchups-those guys mangement are doing the same thing HBO is doing. They are making TV fights that are in their fighters best interest.

Well Martinez is The Man due to lineage, them's the rules. But if he was to retire, you'd definitely have to go through GGG to be The Man, there's universal agreement.

That'd not deceptive marketing, when you say most avoided you mean by ranked contenders. There's always fringe guys and journeyman willing to face anyone (or lay down) for a decent purse, much less for 300k. When you can count say 8 top tenners that passed on GGG offers for inferior opportunities, you might as well market the guy as most avoided cause it's obviously true.
