They're not overrated. They proved themselves at the very top level and not just in the amateurs.Jesus Christ it's NSB, you should know how things work around here.
For at least vouple of weeks after every major fight we have to deal with thousands of posts and threads about one fighter.
People love punchers, you know, like you loved and still love Rakhim and Matthysse who both got their ass beaten when they stepped up.
But they're not overrated, Golovkin is.
Provide me with some credible source, not "partial" record on some site that looks like it was created when Hitler was still around.
It has the dates, tournaments etc listed and we know he really did lose some of those fights as they was televised.
That is a credible source and website with the most complete archive of amateur records dating back decades. Go to the main site, they have records for just about every amateur tournie across the globe. They only have 56 of GGGs, 8 of which he lost. Its far more conclusive proof than Wikipedia or whatever simply listing a dozen fights & boasting a 350-5 record.Last edited by dan_cov; 11-14-2013, 04:41 AM.Comment

I see Maikel Perez of Cuba on there as a Golovkin opponent, I wonder if that's "Mike" Perez.Comment

That website is Polish, I just emailed them asking if Golovkins record is correct and if they can provide me with some credible source that will confirm it.They're not overrated. They proved themselves at the very top level and not just in the amateurs.

If they will, green K for you.Comment

According to this blog, Golovkin did lose 7 http://worldboxingchampions.blogspot...-golovkin.html
The one result which really stuck out to me on the Polish website, was the loss to Despaigne, in Greece 2004. The article above also doesn't say anything about it. I'm pretty sure Golovkin won this fight. The awkward thing is, it is only the other two Despaigne fights that were televised (as far as I know):

I can't find the 2004 Greece fight anywhereComment
