Like Russ said, at least Loma has a decent (ranked) win in the division he'll be challenging for the title. And unlike Vic he has no bad losses

Who do you think is getting stiffed, some Japanese fringe contender? Or Garza needs another title shot? Billy Dib, once he loses to Mex Russian again? Abe Concepcion back in form?

I can promise you Salido much prefers making bank on HBO and having a chance to derail the 2x gold medalist, as opposed to fighting a bum on unimas

Ring the bell, two experienced fighters, so the LoLo guy hasn't stuffed his pro record against bums, trail horses and lightfists I give him and his people and Arum credit for going after the best guy!!! Go after the best and find out for real where your at! Time runs out quickly on the little guys and although he's new to the pros this guys has ALOT of rounds in his past.
Conditioning the body won't be the catch the demand will me on his mental preperation. He must maintain his skills if the Champ is still there after 6 rounds. 12 is a bigger number than 3 especially when punches are being thrown! Ray.

What if he wins though? Would you have a problem with it? Surely it would show he's on the level and the 15 or so Starbucks baristas he would of fought would of been a waste of time

You're damn stubborn for a guy who doesn't know what weight class he's talking about. It's 126 dumbo, not 130. So no point in asking for the names of these guys that WORKED their way up, cause you clearly don't know any, Here, let me remind you of the very worthy opponents the champs fought most recently:

Salido - Cruz, earned the shot by being gay
Gradovich - Munoz robbed underwhelming Luis Franco. Rematching Billy Dib, who just barely got past MIKE OLIVER
Walters - Garza. You catch this fight?
John - Hosono coming off near shutout loss to washed up Caba. Next fighting a guy who last year lost an 8 rounder to a 14-9-2 opponent

Why would we want to ruin Lomo's potentially great career by throwing him to the wolves in this his second fight? Has this ever happened?

Even Floyd wouldn't have been ready for Castillo after 2 fights. And that's fine and normal.

Unnecessary. He could be like Rigo. Take 10 fights because after all he is a special case given his long amateur career, but second fight is too risky.

On the other hand, Gary Russell Jr could learn a lesson
Floyd was what - 20 yrs old when he turned pro? He had under 100 amateur fights. Now compare him with Lomo who is 25 and has 400 amateur fights. I think going up against Siri in his 2nd fight is too fast. Let him fight 2 or 3 more experienced TOP 10, TOP 15 fighters first. But anyone with his resume has done enough to deserve a shot. He's dominated the amateur ranks for 5 yrs.

Personally I'm all for it. Why bother fighting fringe opposition when this guy is clearly something special. Throw him in the deep end and see if he swims.
