I think its a disgrace. What message does that send to pro's that have had to work there arse off to get a shot sometimes having to have 2 or 3 final eliminators? Loma is a great amateur, one of the greatest ever perhaps, but he hasnt earnt his stripes or paid his dues as a pro.

Boxing sometimes shoots itself in the foot whilst trying to place irrelevant historical landmarks.

Everybody complaining about lomachenko possibly getting a shot but what did Orlando Cruz do to get a shot, or the 15 bums Chris John has fought or Nicholas Walters and the guys he has given a shot?

Being "in the rankings" while fighting nobodies makes you more deserving?

Lom has had a LOOOOONG amateur career, he needs to be fast tracked is he wants to make any money in the pro-game. Can he beat someone who is as experienced and hits as hard as Salido? I'm yet to be convinced but Lomo did take on a very good fighter in his first pro fight, so why deny him this opportunity?

I'd just love it if Lomo v Rigo could be made.

Lomachenko will be on an undeniable ATG-pace by the end of his 2nd fight if he beats Salido.

Well on his way. Instead of Rigo-Lomo being the fight I want, I think I'm starting to really warm up to Lomo-Garcia in a year or two. They're closer in size and that would be a helluva fight. Both should be on the P4P list in two years if they keep on doing what they're doing.

lol watch him get iced. I don't like the Idea at all. But I do not care since it is in a weight class I do not follow very much. If someone got a title shot anywhere above 135 it should not be allowed lol. They wouldn't let Molina defend against Ortiz but you can defend against a guy with one fight lol

Even someone like Garcia couldn't keep Salido off of him so I don't expect Lomachenko to be able to either. Like I've said before, Lomachenko might have some pop but I doubt it will be enough for Salido to respect.

Lomachenko is no Rigo. He will lose this fight unless Salido gets robbed like they tried to do in the Juanma fights (very possible). Or unless weight cutting finally catches up to Salido.

I respect that they're taking a big risk. If they succeed, it will pay big in the end. If it doesnt, he's ****ed.

                      Couple of differences:

Unlike Vic, this guy has beaten a ranked alphabet contender at that weight
He doesn't have a long track record of losing like Vic
