He may have had the flu.......he didn't look good to me when he got in the ring. Extremely smooth almost chubby so its possible he was loaded up with fluids! Theres no reason to make excusses for his lack luster performance in fact it helps when negotiating future bouts.....remember he did win by tko!
I think he needs another bout before stepping up to Rigo or any other top tier guy. Not that Vic didn't give him good work because he certainly did but Vic is tuff against everyone because of his awkward style! One more! Ray

I agree, it's a poor excuse from Donaire. But who knows, maybe it's true. I doubt it though. And I'm not sure if Robert can make him any better.

In the case of Floyd, it was different because during fight week, there was footage of him blowing his nose on camera more than once, and on another day during a presser, his voice was obviously hoarse. Dan Rafael straight up asked him on camera if he's feeling 'under the weather.' It was so obvious. But Floyd tried to deny it, said he just got up.

His voice was hoarse that doesn't mean he has the flu, a dry throat will give u a hoarse voice. And I blow my nose every fckin day, and it would help an athlete clear his passages. I don't believe that flu sht for a second, it's only "obvious" for those that can't stop scking Floyds dck. He has an excuse for every fight, hand hurts, sniffles, bumbed his elbow, bumped elerbe too much last night. A poor excuse is a poor excuse no matter the fighter saying it. They're both full of excuses. I may be wrong, they really may have had the flu, but why excuse Floyd and not Donaire, they're saying the same sht.
