Donaire Fought Darchinyan With The Flu

He was interviewed by Philippine news.

"Vic (Darchinyan) was strong, but I couldn't give up the fight," Donaire told Top Rank in Tagalog. "I even have the flu right now, but I had to win this fight for my countrymen who were devastated by the typhoon and the earthquake."

This would explain him looking kinda off throughout the fight. This reminds me of Michael Jordan when he played with the flu against the Utah Jazz. He hit the game winning shot and like Donaire was clutch when it mattered the most.

even when he wins, there's excuses...just man up and admit that you can't give 100% to the sport anymore

He looked like typical Donaire, he has great speed and power but was outboxed most of the fight and even in losing Darch proved that Donaire is really just a good left hook, makes me wonder if Randell Bailey was matched carefully could he have been a p4per with that crushing overhand right.

Donaire and his groupies always have excuses, and its getting old,,, i use to like donaire alot, and still enjoy watching him,, i had him top 5 p4p before Rigo,, but any level-headed boxing fan knows that donaire is not the same donaire he was at 112-118,,,, I think its all mental
