Serious question... how did Golovkin's popularity rise so fast?

How the hell did he go from the lowest ratings to one of the highest for HBO?

Like somebody said earlier... he doesn't have the same exciting style as Pacquio who's quick and throws flurries. He doesn't have the same ethnic following Canelo has with the Mexicans considering their presence here in the U.S and Mexico being right below the U.S.

He comes forward and beats ass... how the hell did he get so popular so fast? There are plenty of other fighters who come forward and beat ass too and they're not pulling in these kind of numbers.

I don't know how big the Kazakh ethnicity is in the U.S, but unless it's huge, I don't see it being a huge driving force.

How the hell is this happening?

Yes, because before Holmes and Spinks he beat ATGs. Holmes was his 33rd fight? Golovkin is still on his 28 record, so relax. He'll get tops in his next 5 fights.
And I thought Mike fans like what they see in GGG but apparently some don't

What's funny is that Mike was being avoided by tops and fought a lower opposition, and now you don't see any similarity while being sarcastic towards GGG's opposition.

because he beats the **** out of people and makes corner throw in the towel, or gets ko.

Love to see GGG fight a top 3 fighter in the Middleweight and Super Middleweight Division. Mike Tyson dominated the heavyweight division in the 1980's, and he won the all the titles including the Lineal Championship.

Agree with these statements. Let's wait for better opposition for GGG.

He's a nice humble guy knocking out everyone in his path. Sound familiar?
The Mayweather/Ward fans hated Pacquiao and now they hate GGG.
While the rest of the hardcore and casual fans are enjoying this wrecking machine they exhaust themselves hating on him and trying to discredit him.

GGG is a superstar in the making. With the exception of Mayweather/Ward fans we all love knock outs. That's what he's giving us in every fight.

Being one of the most feared and ducked fighters of all time has it's perks. Everyone talks about him when he's not around and act proper in his presence. It's part of the game kid

He got popular because hbo gave him a major push by putting him in fights he most surely will win by ko and not approving anyone who might produce a bad fight, even when they call ggg out. They have done an excellent job marketing him and he has done his part by winning by ko.

Then they link him to a floyd fight while not mentioning him with any hbo fighters except froch or sergio who hbo thinks he can beat.
