There are only three other guys in boxing that rival the level of epic warrior Vic is. Froch, Mares and Marquez.

They'll take on all comers, tough fight after tough fight again and again against the best opposition, young or old, tricky style or straight ahead with no bull**** and no excuses.

Vic has fought the toughest run of competition in the entire sport over the last ten years. It's literally a who's who of the very best champions in the game of all styles. In that respect even the other guys don't match up, except for Froch maybe.

As happens when you face the best and give the best, you win some and you lose some. Vic is one of the greatest modern day fighters and has been hugely under appreciated for what he has stood for over the years. His mid career adjustment from insane brawler to the awkward and crafty boxer/puncher was astounding and resulted in one of the great flyweight runs, the first ever unified champion and the peak of his career.

He stands for what every fighter should look to be and what every fan should look, and want, to watch.

Even his opponent who beat him, you hear excuse after excuse...from Donaire not wanting to fight a tricky, crafty southpaw before the fight even begins...and even more when he loses, from injury to entertainment and fatherhood...yet Vic charges into even those fights with gusto and not a second glance and looks like he may even be going in against another one in Rigondeaux in the future at 38 years old!

It was a sad day seeing him lose, so close to winning the fight he finally got all these years later for revenge at 37 to a guy who knocked him out the first time.

A true champion worthy of the Hall. The best are those who not only stand up again to show what they are made of, but get even better after defeat.

Darcman owned up to his loss the way Shane did when he lost to Forrest.

Fight talk is fight talk. Once a fan takes it personal, and you're not taking the punches, then I find something wrong with that.
What's done is done. Darc lost. Boxers do what it takes to motivate themselves. If you can't understand that, then are you a true fan with a true understanding of the sport?

I hope this isn't it for him. Such a showing against Donaire hopefully earns him another chance at someone. If nothing else he'll get picked as a veteran for a young guy to look good against, where he still looks more than capable of pulling off his share of upsets. He arguably beat Mares when they tried to do this.

Is Darcman his nickname? I never heard Darchinyan called that. I've only heard him referred to as Darch.
