Actually, if you look at the video, Vic landed the uppercut which stunned Donaire and then Vic moved away which was the game plan and not stay around for the receipt and Donaire charged forward and landed the crushing left hook which dropped Vic. Vic stuck to his game plan but Donaire raised the intensity when it mattered most. Vic may have been ahead but that's like saying a man was in great health at the time he died which still means he died. They could fight 10 times and Donaire would stop him every time. 2 KO's in 2 fights is definitive. Donaire can take Vic's best but Vic cannot take Donaire's best. Simple physics. You're actually indirectly agreeing with me. The thing is Donaire already had been quietly landing big shots all fight but Vic wasnt letting him capitalize. He was throwing Donaire off rhythm by making him reset (by not getting overly reckless OR by smothering him). Vic got too brave and landed that big upper, but instead of taking that step back like he had been doing he stayed in, tried to measure him for another hard shot from mid range all while giving Nonito prime real estate. Donaire is a stud he'll take that error all day. Vic is TOO confident for his own good. Vic was landing big time shots because he was keeping Donaire from setting up shop to throw with everything. Look at where Vic put his feet and angled his upper body after the skirmish. He gave Donaire the dominant footing. Donaire's positioning was so dominant he could have avoided the shot Vic was trying to measure him with lol...except he's better and faster than that and cranked that bomb out.Last edited by richardt; 11-10-2013, 02:00 AM.Comment

Darch is a so so fighter. He's 37 and lost 4 times since they fought. Don't forget he was ko by nonito lol. This was a tune up and he was losing the fight easily. And it was Vic's first 126 fight too. Always excuses for donaire. Like he's the only fighter with a baby or a few month lay off lolComment

While I agree that most of the potential match ups I mentioned for Nonito Donaire were merely hypothetical; However, I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of Abner Mares. Let's not kid ourselves. The Nonito Donaire who struggled against Vic Darchinyan before eventually stopping him tonight, would have had Mares to outbox circles around him. Just take a look at it. Mares is much younger, faster, quicker, not as flat-footed and have overall better boxing skills than Vic Darchinyan. If this current version of Nonito were to show up against Abner Mares, then he would easily lose, because if Vic could outpoint Donaire for eight out ten rounds then I know that Mares could do even better, because he's a much better fighter.Comment

firing back is going for the kill at that point had he moved boxed and clinched he could of won a UD. and no pretending from seth, he was never claimed to be the best, but i think hes awesome because he still won all his pro fights and never gave up, he came back and beat banks who nobody thought he could beat after losing to him. he'll be back to win again and we'll all be watching. seth never made excuses for his loses just goes back to work and thats a factComment

Donaire looked very bad. The Rigo fight has clearly shattered his confidence - which a fighter like him desperately needs to shine.
I bet Vic is gutted. He was fighting the perfect fight until the 9th, and he was completely outgunned in terms of natural size AND age. War Darchinyan.
Props to Nonito for calling for a Rigo rematch. Tonight's Donaire gets knocked out by Rigo though.Comment
