Boxrec doesn't "jump the gun" they have highly liable sources. They had Mayweather vs Guerrero/Ortiz/Cotto up before it was announced on any notable boxing media sites, and even before Floyd mentioned it on Twitter.
Notice from now on, that when Boxrec puts up a fight and the fight doesn't happen it was because the fight actually fell through, not because it was never going to happen. Actually Boxrec only goes by substantial evidence that the fight will happen.

I'm with you, however we've seen that GGG will do (near) purse parity with the challengers.
Remember the no name LHW/SWW tournament had a 1m budget, so nobody is worried about losing a bit of money there.
