Ring Says Pacquiao is #1 Super Featherweight

Ring Magazine Editor-in-Chief Nigel Collins says Filipino ring idol and national treasure Manny Pacquiao has jumped to the No.1 spot in the 130 pound ratings displacing Marco Antonio Barrera who dropped to No.2 but that Pacquiao is not yet considered the champion. [details]

It's now official, You don't need to have the belts to be on the top spot.

It's fair. Pacquiao beat Morales convincingly, so there is the #1 spot. He may fight Barrios and then face Barrera to unify.

Even though MAB is the champion, Manny is the true top 130 super feather in the world right now, at least until MAB - Pac II. That shouldn't be any surprise.

That is why if MAB really wants to claim that he's the top dog at this lower weights, then he better prove it and fight PAC.

I dunno what fight PAC is gonna get next into. If you look at how he chooses his opponents, you will see that belts doesn't matter to him, what he wants to fight are the considered elites of the division. With or without the belts.

JMM is the next possible fight for PAC, win or lose for JMM against his next fight in Japan. Or maybe Barrios, although he seems afraid in an interview.

I seriously doubt Pac would engage in such a dangerous fight as would be JMM before the much more profitable MAB rematch.

JMM is a good tune up for Pac in Manila.
