A well deserved long rest, go back to the drawing board and give us a few more wars. He will be back.

Nah, Morales's face always looks like the Elephant man's after every fight, whether it's against Pac or Guty Espadas.

Actually when they quote Eric he never says anything about retirement. He says that he will look patiently into his future and then decide what he'll do. I guess retirement is an option, but more likely a really long rest.

A long rest and maybe he'll come back fresh and ready for two or three more wars before retiring...Its gonna suck though boxing fans such as myself wont have the pleasure of watching him fight after that, it sux he had to start fighting soo young haha now hes been into like 52 fights most of them hard gruelling battles.

a long rest, probably a year, wont hurt morales, i think it'll do good for him, then come back and give his fans at least one more big fight

It's easy for you to say when you're not the one facing a life threatening injury. The last fight with PAC obviously got him destroyed and boxing is never a kind sport.

Of the 3 Mexicans, I only respect Morales because he is fearless in the ring and whatever his reputation OUTSIDE the ring may be, inside, it's simply quite impeccable.

But injuries sustained in brutal losses like the one he had on PAC should prompt him to retire. He already has the money to settle himself up. He has a family to think about.

Common sense dictates that if he chooses to fight PAC again, it's a sure way he will be dismantled physically again. Win or lose for Morales, his body will go through the same world full of hurt again and there is only so much a body can take before it gives out. No matter how tough you may be.

Nice to see some respect there.

I give respect when it is due to the fighter. Afterall, respect is won and never asked.

trash talking is just part of the game... everyone just gotta live with it, any sport would be very boring if there's no trash talking.

I am aware of the psychological aspect of the sport. However, there's a thin line between intensity and disrespect. The line seems nonexistent sometimes.

I didn't say he should fight again, nor did I say he should retire. Whatever he decides, I'm fine with it, as I'm sure are all his other fans. I just stated that he didn't mention anything about retirement, not on that interview anyway.
