El mexicano Erik Morales mencionó a su llegada a este puerto que meditará su posible retiro del boxeo después de sufrir derrotas consecutivas contra el estadounidense Zaheer Rahim y el filipino Manny Pacquiao. El "Terrible" arribó por la tarde a Cancún, procedente de su natal Tijuana, para acudir a la Cena de Campeones del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo, que reunió a los mejores pugilistas de la historia en el evento programado en el restaurante La Isla en Xcaret la noche del martes. "En los próximos días me reuniré con mi padre José Morales, quien me inició en el boxeo desde mi carrera amateur y que no estuvo por problemas personales en mi concentración en Querétaro para enfrentar a Pacquiao", señalóo Erik, acompañado de su amigo Jorge Quezada.
