The luster for a big-time notch on the belt was lost when Canelo got beaten 12-0 by Floyd. He gains nothing.

If this fight is at 157, that does not means that Cotto has to come in at that weight...he may as well come in at 155 or so, and keep his speed.

I'm not trying to do anything, but have you seen Martinez' last fight? If Cotto does beat Cotto it would still be an extraordinary feat and nothing could be taken away from it.

I think Freddie will have him pumping that jab at that non-existant guard - doubling up the jab to close the distance and kill the body with the hooks. I think he's going to want it close so that Martinez can't get off first with that lead left hand that is so damn killer.

Can't say for sure - but I can imagine that he doesn't want Martinez to out-jab Cotto and get off first with that hook and he doesn't want him being able to dance away and evade - I wouldn't be surprised if he brought in Manny to be his sparring partner
