According to Richard Schaefer, chief of operations of Golden Boy Promotions, the ring return of Mexican' Canelo 'Alvarez will not be with Miguel Cotto. Schaefer assumes and claims to have sources that tell you that the fight between the Puerto Rican and Argentine Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez is a done deal for mid-2014. Since Golden Boy CEO leaves open the possibility of meeting with Cotto's team but then perhaps not right now.

good,, i would rather watch cotto vs an old serg for the lineal mw championship, than cotto vs molina, or canelo

Cotto is in a good position. He can get his ass beat by Sergio and then still go back to GBP for the Molina/Canelo fights. He can use the excuse that 160 was too much weight for him.

Hopefully it's true. Great fight two great fighters. Martinez still has some good fights left in him and Cotto always makes great fights.
