Comments Thread For: Sergey Kovalev Aims To Impress, Eyes Unification Bouts

WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (22-0-1, 20KOs) plans to impress when he faces dangerous challenger Ismayl Sillakh (21-1, 17KOs) at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, Canada. Kovalev makes the first defense of the title he captured in August from Nathan Cleverly. He wants to make a statement against Sillakh, and then hopes to secure unification bouts against the likes of IBF champion Bernard Hopkins, WBA champion Beibut Shumenov and WBC champion Adonis Stevenson.

Golovkin, Kovalev and Provodnikov - IMO the 3 nuttiest, coolest sluggers in boxing right now. And all titleholders, too.

Ismayl's chin is not a good matchup with Kovalev's fists. This could end very early.

Sillakh isn't a dangerous challenger anymore?

Kovalev is going to have to take some heavy shots to defeat Sillakh, the non-dangerous challenger.

KOVALEV is the most dangerous of the division and not because he killed a man in a fight(SIMAKOV) but because he is a damn tough bastard that can boxe,STEVENSON is the other one but imo BHOP and SHUMENOV will lose with these two guys so to me KOVALEV vs STEVENSON is the fight. Anyway BHOP,KOVALEV,STEVENSON,DAWSON,PASCAL,SHUMENOV,BUTE and CLEVERLY(i don't think him will go to cruiserweight) make the division good right now.
