Cotto has never been in a boring fight, but I think Molina may break that streak.

I do not like the sound of Molina vs anyone. The $25million for 2 fights is a lot of money, and a card of Cotto-Molina and Canelo-Trout/Lara is capable of selling 400-600k, and Canelo vs Cotto is highly capable of at least 800-900k, at least. Especially if promoted like hell. No surprise if it cracks 1mill.

One thing GBP needs to be careful with is that Lara and Trout are fully capable of outpointing Canelo, and Molina is fully capable of spoiling a Cotto win in an ugly points decision.

Martinez-Cotto would be a good fight. That should happen.

Either way he goes Cotto will get the deal he wants, he has good choices whoever meets his needs best will get him. Great position to be in for Cotto.

I do felt Cotto must fight Molina first before thinking of Martinez or Canelo.

Canelo is a prized thoroughbred but he just got outclassed by a super horse, you don't put him right back in a tough mud slog against a mudder like Molina.

What is the upside in that fight for Canelo he wins but he probably doesn't look good, so people question him more and more importantly he probably starts to question himself.

Canelo going in against Molina would probably be the worst match-making ever event though he probably wins.

Cotto is a grizzled vet with a solid following so those worries don't really apply to him but from GBP's point of view they would probably hope Molina made Cotto look kind of bad thus possibly softening him a bit that way because Canelo is their prized horse with the future after all.

(sorry for the horse heavy post been watching a lot of the ponies)
So you're agreeing that GB is looking for a sacrifical lamb to put in there vs Molina instead of using Canelo himself.

I got Molina over Cotto and Canelo whichever way it goes. I will take on all bets too.

Too much risk, Molina is a dangerous and unknown b-side so I don't see how 5 mil is coming Cotto's way. Trout vs Lara is a gamble of a fight, dont think people are really interested in watching Trout v Canelo 2 and I really dont think Canelo wins vs Lara

I'm betting the house he's fighting Martinez 1st.

From what I've heard they're trying to work out the logistics as far as getting the fight made at Metlife for June the day before the PR Day Parade. Todd Debouf apparently is really tight with the owner of Metlife and they've expressed a lot of interest in having a Boxing event there, and this would be a hell of an Inaugural Event.

I think Cotto makes more money fighting Martinez first then having the option in the Fall for Canelo (if he beats Trout in a rematch). I don't think Cotto would entertain a Molina fight. The only fights they're going for right now are big money fights. I think Canelo's next 3 opponents lined up are: Victor Ortiz, Trout if he beats Lara, Cotto (if he beats Martinez).
