That would only be a good deal if Cotto was fresh but as we all know he is not, and he said his next fight maybe his last.
A fight with Sergio is much better for him for the simple fact that he just might win that one because IMO Sergio is done as a world class talent and fighters with his style get OLD overnight (see RJJ)
Cotto vs molina and canelo vs trout/lara are both losable fights for the money guys. I could see GB going 0 for 2 if there are no robberies. But who am i kidding chances are there would be robberies in both.
Huge risk, next to no reward. F that. Cotto can go elsewhere and make just as much money, with the fight actually being meaningful. No reason for cotto to take unnecessary risks.
Canelo and cottos path will cross eventually. No need to force it. Bring on Martinez for a meaningful legacy fight.
Molina's tough and is hard to look good against, but Cotto should be able to beat him. Honestly, it's very risky for both Cotto and Canelo. If they lose they're out a lot of money and their careers are set back, for Cotto it would probably be the end, but if they win then it would pay off dividends. I don't mind this. I'm sure Cotto will make the right choice for himself.
GBP is making Cotto an offer he can't refuse; HBO and Arum are going to be tight.

Molina is a spoiler. Won't make Cotto look good at all.
He is... He's one of the most frustrating boxers to watch, but it's effective. He's a clincher extraordinaire.
I think Cotto has a level of inside fighting that other Molina opponents haven't had though. Cotto will look better than other Molina opponents. How good that is we won't know until fight night, but I think he will grind his way to a clear decision and possible late stoppage.
Canelo will have a tough time with Lara, but I think he will use the Mayweather fight a learning experience. He (and his team) has to have learned that he cannot fight however he wants at the top level and still win. Molina and Angulo have pretty much written the blueprint to defeating Lara, if Canelo follows it, he should win. If he thinks he can outbox Lara on the outside, he deserves to lose.
