I'm really looking forward to that fight. I'm not sure both guy have been looking good in their last few fights. I'm think Yaegashi will win a close decision, bu it Sosa dies win I agree he would definitely be in the running for fighter of the year. But even if he stopped Yaegashi I doubt he would get the award, flyweights usually don't get much credit for heir accomplishments.

Which is total bull****. If he wins decisive, he's had the best year in boxing. Anyone who doesn't have Sosa on their short list with an eye towards that fight's outcome has their head up their ass.

Who do you think will win fighter of the year in 2013?

Golovkin? Mayweather? Stevenson?

Golovkin - no, sadly his level of opposition was not high enough.

Mayweather - no, good fights, very good performances but again, the quality of opposition was lacking.

Stevenson - possibly, his upset of Dawson ranks as one of the biggest in a long time and his subsequent shalacking of Cloud was fun to watch but we have to remember, this is the same Tavoris Cloud who should have lost to Campillo and who got beat by a man reaching 50.

For my money, the fighter of the year is Danny Garcia, he beat Judah and then beat Matthysse is a scintillating performance, even though he was a big underdog going in against the Argentine machine.

If Edgar Sosa beats Akira Yaegashi, it should be Sosa. No one else has THREE high quality wins this year. He would. Still a big if, but knocking off the lineal Fly king would be a capper.
