It's Great that Golovkin had some bad moments in there

I think they mentioned in the telecast that a LHW champ was knocked out by a Golovking's body punch, I wouldn't be surprised if this was Kovalev

Wtf were you dummies watching? GGG destroyed a dude that went into turtle mode. Curtis put on his good boy face and was resigned to take his beating. Yeah, GGG took a few counters... This is boxing not a tickle fight. I'm glad GGG isn't a potshotter like cherrypicker or a hugger like Ward

He's not good off the backfoot and can't really fight off the back foot from what I can tell.

He's comfortable coming forward, cuts off the ring well and can punch very hard.

        Definitely very beatable, though.
Exactly, he showed almost every flaw that he has. He won because of the opponent he had there. I predicted Stevens would get knocked out earlier. But he survived for longer than I thought and hit GG more than I thought he would. This was the #9 MW he was fighting, not top 3. And Ishida and Rosado weren't even ranked at MW.

It reminds me of Pacquiao vs Mosley, he clearly won, knocked down Mosley but showed he ****** at cutting off the ring and does not look good chasing guys.

In this case Golovkin showed he ha no idea what to do against some one who fights back. The only thing he did was increase his activity, not sharpen his defense or cover his head or anything.
True and even then they still don't want to fight him. Go figure! Well actually it's not that hard to figure out, even with that weakness he's a really bad mofo with a solid chin and very accurate hurtful punches. Not all fighters are as ****** as Stevens

As long as he has that ability to hurt fighters, the punching power, he can change the momentum of a fight where a guy had a bit of success but is slowly starting to get broken down and fade.

Hence as per the other thread topic, he needs to remain a 160 life-timer. This is where he has IT. Not everyone has to be a division after division conquering , multi-champion. It's been done to death at this point.

Slow? He is certainly not the fastest in the division but he isn't slow. I think he is better on the front foot but he can fight pretty good back too although not as effectively as going forward. Also I must be the only person who thinks his defence is pretty damn good, he catches a lot of punches on his arms and gloves, he is hard to hit really clean. For an aggressive come forward fighter his defence is damn good to me, it reminds me of Chavez Sr although not quite as good. The only fighter I can see beating him is Ward.

Looked slow to me. Not the slowest but slow. Stevens was clearly much much faster.

His defense looked really bad to me, especially on the back foot where he just freezes. I guess we see different things because he looks hopeless on the backfoot, to me.

I think GGG is slow with his power punches because he is trying so hard to zero in and put them in the right place and I don't even think he is loading up too much. I thought his jab was faster than Stevens's though. So yeah while his clubbing punches might be slow on average although not that slow his jab is above average fast I think.

stevens is actually a really fast puncher, even then, still got knocked out. So what you are suggestion is a fighter with speed, has to open up and throw really fast like stevens did a few times(got knocked down for it i might add), and he can take GGG punches, there is not a single 160 fighter that can do that. you are very much stretching to see his flaws
