The problem is that the game plan is to be implemented by an an already excellent outside fighter, not for a Brandon Rios that isn't used to and hasn't been effective at fighting on the outside against opposition that isn't on the level of a Pacquiao. The Garcia's must think that Rios will be able to adapt to and be effective with this style after 1 training camp, but they're going to find out that 1 training camp is not enough to develop the habits that he will need for this fight.

Rios is going to realize that he is not being effective at fighting on the outside as the fight gets increasingly one-sided. As soon as he realizes it (if he hasn't gotten stopped before arriving to that conclusion), he's going to revert back to his signature style, and get hurt in the process.

This isn't Alvarado vs him, where Alvarado had the speed advantage and developed a good enough outside fighting ability to defeat him (we saw what happened when he faced a better pressure fighter in Provodnikov). This is going to look similar to Golovkin-Macklin except Rios is going to put up a more valiant effort (and take more punches in the process).
Very smart post, enjoyed reading it man. Good observations, good points.

However, I do believe Rios has some of that boxing pedigree in him. His jab looks very sharp and his movement/awareness look pretty decent compared to his usual slow/hunchback stance. I believe they are bringing out some of those skills that Rios has but has shunned away due to his love for caveman-like brawling style. Then again, it is not the fast Pacquiao in front of him in that video.

Should be a very entertaining fight with several exciting moments. I expect Rios to be very aware of Pacquiaos positioning, he'll be very awake through the fight in terms of being on his toes. He knows this is a fight like none other significance/opponent wise, I expect him to give a valiant quality effort.

You don't watch much boxing videos then. Especially from the Garcia's cause they do that for all their fighters. Check recent Mikey clips, same thing, sits down after every 3 minutes to emulate what it's like during a fight. There's less blood flow in the legs when you're sitting down and they want the fighter to get used to getting back up and going to work. Margarito did the same thing for Pac, and his conditioning was superb.

crazy mofo. 1 by decision and 8 smart people picked Riso to win by KNOCKO OUT Tekken style b1tch

Hope you're ready for that sig, "I want Brandon Rios to take my **** ******ity...I also don't know **** about boxing."

This isn't 2009 fool, This is 2013 and Rios just hit his prime!

You do realize the rest of the poll is trolling, Pac in real life is only a 4-1 favorite. I think those are the same odds Bradley had so honest people know Brandon has a great chance to win this.

                • Manny is/was a great fighter but not sure how much he has left after that nasty kO it just seems like he is past his prime and Rios is a young strong monster in that ring.

                  Rios by KO

                  • im having flashbacks of how many times mannys looked at the ref at end of his fights as if to say "when the fk you gna stop this beatdown?", "im not tryna kill this guy"

diaz, cotto & margarito come to mind

RIOS IS NEXT! i hope the refs stops it before rios gets any serious damage like what pac did to margarito, pac ruined margaritos career. i still wna see rios face provodnikov, alvarado 3, maybe marquez or bradley. beat him but dont kill him manny, thanks.

manny KO in 3 or TKO ref stoppage in 10
