I don't know if they would, neither do you. Maybe if Ward hadn't held Kessler 100+ times and headbuttet him 5+ times it would have been closer. Both guys have beaten top contenders since fighting Ward and are ranked #1 and #2 respectively. Working your way up to a rematch isn't unheard of - only when it comes to Ward.

He's arrogant as well. I don't dislike his personality at all actually, he seems like a good guy. But he is a bit arrogant, therefore not the biggest gentleman in the sport.

when did i say andre ward was a candidate for "biggest gentleman?"

the bay area to atlantic city would be much longer than three hours, man. i flew to vegas for mayweather - alvarez, and the flight there was seven or eight hours with all the time we spent on the runway, and about five or six hours on the way back.

it is a neutral site. froch probably traveled and extra four hours to get there. he's a world class boxer and was an international amateur. it's nothing that would lose him a fight.

and see my post on the kessler fight. kessler was reaching out for a clinch habitually by the end of that fight. ward outboxed kessler for every minute of every round.

people really don't like ward for some reason.

the clashes of heads certainly had an effect on the fight, but they don't look intentional. if you want to see a fighter who really uses his head, watch evander holyfield. he uses his head to make contact. watch how he swings and bobs it. ward's head is of benefit to his style because of his short arms, but it's not being used as a weapon explicitly the way holyfield does.

and on the clinches, dude, watch the fight again and look at kessler reaching out and clinching. i don't know what to tell you if you're looking at a fighter clinching and telling me he isn't. he ties ward's left arm up especially.

unless one guy is herculean strong he needs his opponent to cooperate in the clinches. they're a silent agreement in boxing. you can keep your hands free and punch at least some of the time if you choose not to clinch. kessler was playing along with the clinches later in the fight.

Lamont Peterson is the lowest of the low.

He could have killed Khan with his steroid abuse. As if Khan's chin wasn't fragile enough without his yoked up opponent blistering in sledgehammers on it.

Miguel Cotto is a good option because he's usually a gentleman but conducts himself in a manner that demands respect.

Im not sure how Kessler complaining about those savage head butts is wrong

But, i've met Ward, he was not in a good mood and was trying to leave and trying to make security escort him out from the back so nobody would bother him. This was at Donaire-Rigo

Smoger is the coolest guy to talk to, he hugs you and stuff lol

Just about all the boxers ive met were really cool

Like them all but pausing for a minute I can think of particularly ungentlemenly instances from all except Kessler and Cotto.

Wlad...sometimes bites with the fight talk (namely Hayes) and comes across a bit coc ky.
Pac had a stint of partying and likely cheated on his wife.
Martinez has a few too many complaints and excuses relating to opponents.

Only times Cotto or Kessler even came close to such sour g****s was when there received fairly obvious foul play and bad sportsmanship.

Sorry mate, just assumed as you replied to this thread you said he was.

Froch lost fair and square. I've got no issues with that fight at all. It was clean and Ward dominated him from start to finish more or less. The Kessler fight I have a problem with.

I don't agree at all that Kessler initiated the clinches. Obviously some of them, but the vast majority of them were from Ward. I think that's undeniable. I also didn't like the way he went in head-first. I have problems with the ways he fought that night.

That being said, the issue is not whether he would beat them again or not. He was given a shot at titles from these guys, yet refuse the thought (mostly) of giving them title shots in their country, despite them coming over to America to fight. I don't think that's sportsman like.

Especially as those two fights are easily the best out there for him in the SMW division.
