Inside the ring, according to contemporaries, he was certainly NO gentleman.

Also, like Gerry Cooney, it could have been chosen because it goes with "Jim" the way it goes with "Gerry"....

I like the fact that all five gentlemen got their fair share of votes.

GGG both in outside and inside the ring, and Wladimir outside the ring.

Ali, Duran, Robinson, Jones, Hopkins, Toney....oh wait we are talking about the softies of boxing in today's era?

Okay, well I don't think it's particularly a great thing to be a big "gentlemen" in a sport like boxing. A lot of times, this gentlemen behavior translates into the ring and you basically get taken advantage of by the more mentally/verbally/arrogant tough opponent who's at the same level as you.

There's no need to be a parasite like Adrien Broner, but you don't have to be a flower like those mentioned. And even those mentioned are not that big of gentlemen. You guys forgot Martinez sh-tting on Pacquiao and Cotto a couple of years ago? Going as far to say as he doesn't respect Cotto or Pacquiao? How is that being a gentlemen?

Give me that Mayweather, Haye, Froch mentality over any other softie.

For the record, I think right now it's Demarcus Corley or Gennady Golovkin.

sergio seems to be a class act. he supports anti bullying and womens rights etc. he carries himself well. klitschko seems cool. pac seems to be a really nice guy by any personal accounts that i've heard but he has/had his many vices. cotto too. hatton seemed cool, though he had his weaknesses. glen johnson seems to be really cool.
