We are not going off of their last fights. Cotto is the more established fighter, career wise, between the two. Other than Trout, whos Canelo fought thats worth mentioning? Who has sold more PPVs? Who has the bigger numbers on HBO or ShowTime? This is a no brainer.

I mean this is based on what exactly? Was there a Canelo fight after the Floyd loss that I missed and it bombed on the ratings? What are the basis for these claims?

I suggest we wait for Canelo's next fight, maybe? See if he has lost support or if he's less popular now? See his ratings? IDK, that's if you guys want. If not then keep making false claims.
I never said he definitely isn't as popular. I'm asking if people are sure he's still 2.2 million PPVs alongside Floyd Mayweather popular. So much of Alvarez's hype was built up over 2 years for the specific purpose of being a boogeyman for Floyd to fight. With the loss, and the way he lost especially, maybe that popularity takes a noticeable dip so that Cotto would be the bigger draw again.

      It's a legitimate question.

Lolll sorry Canelo is on the B side. Why is he desperately trying to make a fight with Cotto? Canelo is a HUGE OMG star right? Cotto/Trout drawed 1.5 million the best on Showtime Canelo/Trout did 1mil flat a big ass gap difference in viewers and that's with Trout coming off a big win against Cotto.

Now, why would Canelo go after the guy who got beat by the guy he beat? He needs Cotto to sell he's really not top ppv quality at this point.

I'm with you he's not doing great numbers without the likes of Martinez/Cotto.And the MATTYSE/GARCIA fight pushed the issue of helping the event also. Canelo needs to drop to free showtime and demonstrate he can do something. 3 ppvs are far fetched...2 Mayweather fights, 2 PAC fights, 1 Cotto ppv, Bradley, good luck with Canelo and his 3 ppvs

"population pool" perhaps or maybe has everything to do with this???

Separate canelo from mexico and he is not anywhere near cotto's league in terms of drawing power...
