Woodhall had never truly lost a fight in the pro's, even the American commentators had him three or four rounds ahead against Keith Holmes and the way the judges had that fight scored it was proof that he was going to be on the end of a screwjob - Calzaghe has said that's why he hasn't fought in America, because of how the judges had Woodhall's fight with Holmes scored when Woodhall was clearly winning (before being stopped in agony due to his dislocated shoulder that he'd bravely carried on with). I remember Woodhall had been kept on the WBC mandatory spot for almost 18 months by a certain Mr King! As soon as it was heard that Woodhall needed a shoulder operation, he suddenly had his shot.. what a coincidence I remember Herol Graham was giving Woodhall advise because Woodhall was originally supposed to be fighting Julian Jackson, Graham telling him to stay on the backfoot.

Woodhall was robbed against Beyer, he'd fallen out with Warren which meant he hadn't fought for nine months and it was purely ring rust that made him a slow starter against Beyer.. but once Richie found his range he schooled Beyer for the last five rounds and got robbed in HIS hometown which was very strange. Going back to the amateurs, he won the Gold medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games before turning pro, he says he got robbed at the first stage of the 1989 World Championships against a Cuban in Cuba (that Cuban went on to win the Gold). Richie says that the last fight he lost legitimately before losing to Joe Calzaghe was the close-fought Olympic semi-final against Roy Jones Jr. He says that from 1988 to 2000 it was only Jones Jr and Calzaghe who beat him fair and square, only those two who showed superior ability to him.

None of those three are truly top flight guys though, just slightly above average in what is regarded as one of the more talent poor divisions in all of boxing. Lacy is the first truly top flight opponent that Calzaghe has seen since your boy Eubank

          Lacy a top-flight opponent?? He's horrible.

It's just that Calzaghe is all washed-up.

and very hitable as well. I favor Lacy in the fight, but I'm not as sold as everyone else that he is the next coming.

I'm not one of those people who think Joe Calzaghe has no chance. He has a very good chance of putting up a great fight and possibly outpoint Lacy. But I still think Lacy's ferocity will win the fight.

Slightly above average? I disagree-tell me something which fighters on Mr. Lacy's resume get you fired up and tell you that he is the real deal? (Neither man has a name on their resume that jumps off the page but in the last 5 years what 168 pounder would have been a career definer?)

Most people give Joe Calzaghe no shot because of simple reason-they know **** about him. The key to this fight is can Joe stun or hurt Jeff because his handspeed is going to allow for him to find LAcy's face at will-can he hurt LEFT HOOK?

Im not 100% sure why lacy has been made the favourite for this fight, it would seem to me that their on pretty level ground, maybe with the slight edge to Joe as he has the hometown crowd/judges.
I agree maybe lacy is in slightly better form over the last few fights, but i completely disagree with people saying Calzaghe is past his best. 34 isnt massively old for a fighter in the heavier divisions, and he's been in very few real wars over his career, and i think he's likely to come into this fight with all cylinders firing.

Expected result: Close, disputed points decision to Calzaghe

Lacy unstoppable? And who exactly has stopped Joe Calzaghe?

And who exactly has Lacy demolished of any real quality that makes him so great? Robin Reid? Leave me out.
