No there isnt a middle ground, Hopkins has been doing this for years and a ref like Smoger doesnt see it?? If I nut you or punch you in the bollocks its a foul. It really is that simple, and in Hopkins case refs already know he is likely to be pulling every trick in the book, so why isnt he getting called for it? Its a wonderful story that he is still fighting at his age, but he has been getting a handicap on fouls for too long now and if refs had more balls and pulled him on his nonsense, then the reality is he probably wouldnt still be fighting....certainly not at world title level anyway.

Well put, him fouling is a crucial part to him winning fights, Have him fight a legit fight I doubt he wins but you know who knows maybe he is a ailen but for now I say he has to cheat just to compete and win, make him fight fair and he folds up.

Hopkins has been juicy with his elbows in the past.

Murat was the dirtier fighter by miles... Easily could have been dq'ed by another ref. Smoger handled it decently. Hop was fighting rough but not blatantly fouling like Murat was. Each foul Murat stacked made Smoger more and more irritated with him. That face push in the end was not for the singular action of Murat throwing a head but, it was Smoger's frustration at Murat constantly fouling and turning his back throughout. Disgraceful showing by Murat. He deserved that face push.

Why are everyone saying that this fight was boring? It was a really great night of boxing. I was very entertained.

Smoker sure is a character! Biased towards Hopkins wasn't hard to spot, I didn't mind.

He always fights dirty. I don't condone it, but there's no sense in throwing a fit over it. That's the way he fights and he always gets away with it. The way he leads with his head is criminal.
