Floyd was begging for fights back then. Hell, he had to fight Chop Chop and Bruseles in eliminators to force Gatti to fight him.

He has a ways to go before thinking he is some PPV star and that was the core of my original point and statement. They tried to put him at top of a PPV card way too soon. Maybe in 2-3 fights. Maybe now he will learn that he cant just talk his way to that point, he will need more top wins.

Well, it depends on what you consider a PPV star. If you're talking about a Floyd, Pac, DLH type star, he likely will never reach that. But if you're talking about a Miguel Cotto type star who with a good opponent, can A-side a 500k PPV, I think that's in reach. The only way he does anything more than that is if he fights Floyd, make himself interesting to the masses during the promotion, and most importantly, wins the fight. Much like Floyd did with DLH. And I don't see that happening for AB.

This makes me very happy. I did not want to pay for Broner-Maidana, as much as that fight and the others intrigue me. Hell, I would have been tempted just because of Santa Cruz.

It brings attention, and you can catch him on the biggest hip hop station in Atlanta throwing parties as well as in NY. The whole thing was, is he more popular than Floyd before Oscar, and that right there shows he is.
