Networks are probably just getting even or losing money on PPV cards, even the big ones. Marketing them is not cheap, not to mention the huge cost of paying these wannabe stars. They all want nothing less than a million bucks.

It's no wonder why HBO let Mayweather go without batting an eyelash. Money Mayweather and Haymon are the only ones making millions. Did GBP make truckloads of money? I don't think so. Money Mayweather's guarantee is so huge Schaefer is probably still trying to figure out how he could come up with the balance.

That's only because Floyd was smart enough to realize he didn't need to sign a long-term contract with a promoter. He basically subcontracts GBP to promote his shows for a flat fee.

You're wrong there. In the urban community, Broner is just as, if not more popular as Floyd was before DLH. A better comparison would be Judah at his peak. Judah was, and still is a star in the black community. And because of social media and youtube, AB is probably more popular than Floyd and Judah were in the black community. I suspect that has a lo to do with Judah being floated around as AB's next opponent should he beat Paulie. AB-Judah would do very similar numbers that Floyd-Judah did.

You clearly are new to this. Broner-Garcia would be a smashing success if it did half of the 700k you mentioned. Pacquaio-Marquez II only did 400k. And Pac at that point was 3x the draw AB is now.

You have to remember the WBA have 3 titles in every division, Interim, Regular and Super titles. Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez was for the WBA ''Super'' title, Erislandy Lara is the WBA ''Interim'' title holder and will be upgraded to ''Regular'' champion for the Trout fight.

If I remember correctly Floyd was the regular champion and Canelo was the Super Champion after he beat Trout. Or switched around, either way they definitely had the super and regular titles between them.
