Probably just really fresh gloves.. leather was just really stiff combined with the punching power of GGG.

Just realised there's been a glut of articles bigging up Kid C recently, even going so far as to call the Rosado fight a proxy war, now suddenly Gabe seems to be trying to discredit the Golovkin win.

I hope the kid ain't sold his soul to Haymon or Espinoza - but all of a sudden I won't be surprised by an early stoppage on Saturday....

EDIT: And just as a final thought, I always thought that one of the main reasons for the gloves was to protect your fists. One of the main effects of reducing the front padding would be to put Gennady at a substantial risk of breaking his own hands. Does this seem a likely strategy?

He should've leaked his su****ions to Stevens camp in confidence and perhaps could have made mockery of triple G in similar vein as well u know that confirmed cheating puta.

If this fight goes the distance and bombs are landed with atypical results then some credence to these allegations could be contemplated. Hopefully not...but would not be surprised...

What are you talking about? The trainer or GG could've done something to the gloves at anytime before the Rosado fight. My God, GG taints his gloves...wtf!!!??? Stevens, check this mofos gloves. Rosado didn't just bring this up just cause. After all he was the one that felt GG's damn near unpadded gloves.

I had very little respect for GG before this, but now I have zero respect. GG may be the biggest fraud in boxing. I hope Stevens beats his ass.

This is ridiculous that he can get away with taking padding out or moving padding toward the wrist just to land hard shots.

We need a specialist to watch this clown during the wrapping of his hands, and keep someone in his room too so he can't do **** to his gloves, lmao.

I love these types of comments made by fighters who are loved by the fans, knowing how fickle fans are to what a fighter says or does outside of the ring, I knew as soon as I read the thread title that I was going to see posts like "I just lost respect for Rosado". An overhyped, decent fighter gets love from fans, then he gives his opinion on another god of boxing, and all of a sudden people "lost respect" "Wish Quillin knocks him out". That is what you call sensitive.

I think no less or no better of Rosado for these comments. He stays the same to me, a decent fighter, who would gain my respect just like any fighter would, which is by how he fights in the ring. His whining outside of the ring is his problem and does not affect my opinion of him as a boxer.

His whining shouldn't affect anybody's opinion as a boxer I picked Rosado to win against Quillin and his whining doesn't change what I think will happen in the ring. His whining affects what people think of him as a person, he had no problems when he lost or before the Love fight, now all of a sudden "something was wrong with the gloves"?

It just sounds like excuses, take your loss and go on with it. Most people here were telling JMM to STFU after whining about the Bradley loss. It's kind of the same thing, except this is 9month's later. But when people were saying JMM was whining, nobody said he's any less of a boxer or his whining affected what happened in the ring.

Rosado is still the same boxer he is, regardless of the whining/excuses.

                  cliffs: I'm butthurt.

No, you don't get it, the Gloves were checked by the commission then resealed and packaged only to be re-opened in the presence of the other teams checkers at the time of gloving up prior to the fight. I think that there's even the implication (though it isn't clarified) that the gloves involved were brand new prior to inspection, then repackaged and sealed for the fight.

Rosado isn't saying they were tampered with, he's saying they were made that way. Why else say they were 'custom' gloves (which they were indeed - custom colours, a fairly standard request by higher level fighters I believe)?

Anyways, as I point out above, the most likely consequence of reducing the front padding of the glove would be for GGG to break his hands when hit people.
