    But it's okay now

          July 26, 2010

Greenburg releases statement saying he's been negotiating with a representative from each side since May 2nd.

"Fights like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao are significant because of these fighters' ability to connect with sports fans around the world. It's unfortunate that it won't happen in 2010. I had been negotiating with a representative from each side since MAY 2nd, carefully trying to put the fight together. Hopefully, someday this fight will happen. Sports fans deserve it," HBO Sports President Ross Green revealed in a prepared statement sent out to select members of the media one week after having no comment on the subject. According to Greenburg, his involvement in negotiations began on May 2nd, less than 24 hours after Floyd Mayweather's unanimous decision victory over Shane Mosley and roughly 8 days before Manny Pacquiao was elected to the Philippine Congress.

Earlier today, HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg confirmed that he was indeed acting as a mediator for representatives of Floyd Mayweather and

HBO's Ross Greenburg finally came out with a statement confirming that there had been negotiations for Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight.

          July 26, 2010

Ellerbe stands firm on denial of negotiations; says phone calls asking about future plans is not negotiations.

"I stand behind my statement 100 percent. Obviously, the term negotiation needs to be defined to those parties who are making these comments. Calling to inquire about what Floyd is thinking about doing is not a negotiation. There was never any negotiation. I respect Ross but I am 100 percent sure there were no negotiations," Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe would tell ESPN.com, suggesting that although Ross Greenburg MAY have called to inquire about Floyd Mayweather's future plans, there were never any discussions pertaining to terms of a negotiation.

          July 26, 2010

Schaefer still supports Ellerbe's denial of negotiations; challenges both Greenburg and Arum to take lie detector tests.

"I think it's unfortunate that Ross made that statement. I fully stand behind the statement I made. I have not negotiated with Ross and I am not aware of any negotiations that have taken place," Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer would also tell ESPN.com, supporting Leonard Ellerbe's assertion that negotiations never took place. "If Ross or Arum wants to go through a lie detector test, we can arrange that. I can only tell you I have regular contact with Al and Leonard and there were no negotiations going on. I don't know exactly what Ross is referring to or what he is talking about. But I have been very consistent. There were none going on."

HBO's Ross Greenburg finally came out with a statement confirming that there had been negotiations for Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight.

          July 27, 2010
Ellerbe again denies negotiations ever took place; says Mayweather made it clear that he was taking time off.

"I stand 100% behind my statement. How the hell can you have a negotiation when the principal himself says he's not even thinking about boxing at this particular time and he's the one calling the shots and is his own boss? This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion and I'm not going to go back and forth with this. I know for a fact that no negotiations have taken place and it's clear to me that those that made those statements are not clear on what the term 'negotiation' means," Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe would reiterate, explainig that Floyd Mayweather had already made it perfectly clear that he would be taking some time off and making phone calls to inquire about his future plans is not a form of negotiations. "Making inquiries about what Floyd's intentions are is not a negotiation. Floyd made it perfectly clear the night of the Mosley fight, at the post-fight presser, again in JUNE, and again in JULY that he's not thinking about boxing at this particular time. Floyd said he wanted to take some time off and spend it with his family. If Floyd is saying this, then who are you negotiating with."

What I posted is actually what happened. Add to the fact that Arum has gone on record numerous times stating he doesn't need Mayweather particularily after the 3rd Marquez fight in the ring with Freedie Roach and you have me who NEVER did or believe that Top Rank wanted the fight for Manny. Arum's in house fights and reputation for arrogance speaks high in volumes. People want to believe it's Floyd's fault because of other agendas but history has it on record that Mayweather was ready to fight two times. Once in 2009 and again when he called Manny and offered him 40 Mil. Both times Manny walked away. Whether you believe it or not is up to you but those situations are documented.

If someone walks up to you and demands a dollar and then a week later you walk by homeless person who asks for a dollar. Which dollar do you think you were more willing to give. To the one that demanded it or the one who asked?

Yes, you are right. Two pounds over the agreed amount and had to pay 300K per pound. That's what the history books will show: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_M...Manuel_Marquez

All Mayweather demanded was the OST test now would think Pacduckiao such an honorable man and champion would not have anything to hide but yet he did not accept and went on to make extremely less money to fight a punching bag. So I would suggest you do you research before you put a comment that makes you look completely clueless to the sport of boxing. And your credibility means *****! Pac fans are soo blind and they tend to forget about the first negotiations and how he backed out because of OST. Just like how they accuse Marquez and Marquez was willing to test as long as Pacduckiao got tested but we all know what happened.
                    NOT TRUE...Where's my BINKY

Ok, and Marquez not wanting VADA for the Bradley fight? Andre Ward not wanting VADA for this Rodriguez fight? The fights still happened or are going to STILL happen regardless of testing. These men have balls.

The difference is that Floyd didn't want to fight, but the other boxers were not afraid. But Floyd was, is, and always will be afraid. There's no REAL negotiations when a fighter is afraid to fight.

Answer this question: Would a REASONABLE man drop his own promotion company (MP Promotions) and join TMT, give TMT 5 fights under that banner when you may have only 3-4 fights left in your body, just to fight Floyd?

Do you really believe that this is NOT a Floyd excuse to not fight yet again? You Floydies keep bringing up the 1st negotiations, 1st negotiations....what about the other or recent demands by Floyd/Ellerbe?

Maybe the 1st negotiations and speculations are all you got? That fight didn't happen from the 1st negotiations and the demands are growing to rediculous proportions by Floyd.

Ask yourselves this, is Floyd getting even more demanding or is Floyd being more resonable in fighting Paquiao? Wouldn't he be more inclined to be resonable if he really wanted to fight?

Are Floyd/Ellerbe really negotiating or are they being more and more outlandish in their demands?
