You've listed 7 sports; baseball, basketball and hockey are hardly world sports...and wrestling isn't a real sport.

        That's 4 of the 7.

You're right that hockey isn't a world sport but baseball is closing in on that and basketball is a world sport. It's played just about everywhere.

Baseball is played throughout Latin America. It's also played professionally in Japan, Korea and elsewhere in Asia.

I wouldn't call it having the popularity of soccer but if they don't count as world-wide what does?

I would call world-wide sports (not in order) to be:

            Soccer
            Basketball
            Baseball
            Cricket
            Rugby
            Volleyball
(If you consider them to be a sport).
            Tennis
            Boxing

I'm a Huge Hulk fan, just find some of the initial names flung around, a little unwordly.

In terms of hugely successful world sportsmen ever, get your Federer, Beckham, Sachin Tendulkar and Usain Bolt's etc. in there before Wayne Gretzky and certainly Hulk Hogan.

                  Baseball is barely played anywhere

It's not exactly big in Mexico or Canada but I'll give it you

It's only a few tiny Central American and Carribean countries who recognise it (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Panama, Nicuragua)

Bolt is a good one,,, beckham is a huge name but not exactly the best ever in his sport, that would be like using andre agassi

Gretzky was the man in hockey,,,, Im not a hockey fan but i know he was a huge celebrity in his hey-day......
