Ward refuses to participate in VADA testing

Here we go again. VADA became the standard once they started busting fighters left right and center in addition to having transparent protocol unlike that other testing agency that hides results, retests dirty samples until they come clean and make up their own reporting rules.

Ward should take the VADA tests. No question about it.

Exactly, VADA actually catches people ... that other crowd on the other hand...

Man, i'm a huge fan of Ward. But even I have to admit that theres some red flags here. Refusal of testing is always su****ious. It should be something that fighters have no control over

And I remember some notable difficulties making Ward-Abraham because Abraham wanted testing and Ward didn't.

No, behave like a professional athlete and don't do anything that's not in the contract. Floyd put it in the contract, Donaire put it in the contract, Pacquiao put it in the contract. That's what serious professional athletes do.

The above is hiding behind the image of 'being a professional athlete'. In the present climate everyone knows that the standard drug testing are woefully inadequate, a fighter with integrity and nothing to hide would simply take the test. If they're truly clean then the additional drug testing will not have an effect on the nature of their contract, this actually contrasts things like people missing weight- which can funnily enough take place in spite of the fact that one fighter holds an advantage.

Also you argue that Floyd, Donaire and Pacquiao put in their contract? I wonder what those fighters have in common...... I know, they were all the big draw going into their fights. If Rodriguez asked for additional testing going into the fight, he would have been told to fuck off.

I wouldn't go as far to say that Ward is cheating but for a guy who's got a respectable image and wants to come across like he's clean, why not take the test and get rid of the POSSIBILITY of being labelled a drug cheat?

It's just ****** IMO. If there's nothing to hide, take the test.

Didn't Rigo and Donaire go thru something like this? In the end both took the tests right? So if Ward doesn't then he needs to be crucified.

Edwin said there is a sponsor who will pay for both of their testing, there really isnt an excuse for Ward to not accept

if he loses, and he's been clean, it will taint his past victories.

people will say "the first time he had to take drug tests he lost."


now, that said, i have su****ions about andre ward, and any of the other top boxers on the planet.
