Tons of fighters do it, including Floyd, khan and pac. I have never seen someone hate a fighter or Lara for doing that. So I'm guessing you hate Lara for doing that too right

I've no problem with a little bit of hype. Hell I bought into it with JML.

And why should he get credit for his gold medals when people say it didnt matter when it was Rigo.

And when Audley Harrison gets knocked out people rant like "this isn't the amateurs".

I'm saying give him a chance to establish his level before we start predicting ATG status.

I was never more impressed by a fighter than Jorge Linares, but look what happened to him.

I could never harbor hate for such a classy and smooth fighter like Lara. But it pisses me off. He has shown in fights he can be whitaker-esque slipping punches, but would rather cover up on the inside and look for the counter uppercut. That's what got him dropped against Angulo. When he leans back in the pocket (more like Toney tha Whitaker now that I think about it) he's much more effective.

Loma has absolutely no flaws as far as I'm concerned.

He is a really good prospect with a lot of physical talent and good boxing skills. That said he does have flaws, now there is a probability that he fixes some of that as he learns to fight more like a pro and less like an amateur. However some of those things might be tough for him to fix considering his long amateur career as it is harder to unlearn something that is ingrained than learn something new.

It really comes down to how hard he works and how dedicated he is to his craft. I personally think they should slow down with him because even though he can have success win some belts, getting pushed this hard this fast I think will limit his growth as usually once a guy hits the big time they stop really improving.

I hear where you're coming from. To me it mattered with Rigo, I thought he was a superb talent and sure pros isn't amateurs, but some things, like what you can see by giving Rigo the eye test, you can't teach. Lomachenko was known to have a style better suited for the pro's regardless, so it wasn't like he was one of those pitty-pat slappers.

You can just watch Audley and Lomachenko/Rigo though man and see the obvious disparity in talent.

Definitely give him a chance to establish his level before calling him an ATG, sure I agree with you...... but with his pedigree, and the natural talent you can see he has and what he did and how he looked (regardless of the nitpicking) in his first fight, a little bit of hype is warranted. BUT the reason he might be getting so much hype, the kind you think is too much is because he's fighting Salido next. Obviously we just have to wait until January to continue this "ATG hype" and see if it's warranted, but one thing is for sure man... IF Lomachenko was to defeat Salido in his second fight, he's off to a HOF and ATG-pace to start his career. And there's absolutely no dis*****g that.

That's where this hype comes from..... The possiblity of him starting his career off with a win against Ramirez and Salido. It's a big IF, but if he managed to do it.... I just don't see how you can say the hype is too much.

Do you think Wlad should voluntarily defend against Holyfield too?

So Canelo can get hype after fighting 35 truck drivers and handymen, but Lomachenko can't get hype after fighting a ranked fighter in his first fight?

Clearly you're the one with the agenda, not me
Your not listening! The hype Canelo got was bull****, I know that, I'm not defending that so stop putting words in my mouth.

I understand this was his first fight but if hes talking about fighting for a world title in his next fight then he is a contender and I'll hold him to that standard.

I would love nothing more for Lomanchenko to go on and be the best of all time. I would love to witness that. But stop putting that kind of pressure on a guy with one fight.

You seem to have made up in your head that I'm insulting Lomo or am downplaying him. I'm not i'm just being realistic.

I'd be surprised if Salido doesn't KO this kid. And a 126 Gamboa would make him look ******.

Hope he proves me wrong though
Yes I think Salido may be a bit too seasoned for him. And...it's "whale away.."
