JMM was a p4p fighter for a while now, but he is old now. But after koing Pac he deserved to be top 3 material because you get credit for taking risks.

If JMM beating Pac don't make JMM a top fighter, why would Floyd entertain fighting Pac?
JMM hasn't an in depth resume like Pac or Floyd though that's the main problem and its all about how you give credit. Its in the eye of the beholder.

defintely was a top 3 p4p after he koed pac .. but as far as atg ranking is concerned , jmm was never an atg in my book ..his resume is too mediocre to be in it ...

Over the last 3 years (bar the Pac KO) he has beat boxing phenoms Likar Ramos and Serhiy Fedchenko, both of whom were ranked near the top 30-40 of their divisions--well maybe just Fedchenko.

Marquez is def still top 10 pfp either in front of just behind Pac. That KO of a top p4p fighter in Pac should have him on that top 10 justl ike how RIgo defeated a top p4p figher in Donaire.
And Bradley is sure as hell right he deserves a mention among the best

I like how people are basically calling a 40 year old JMM "overrated".

He's definitely not overrated, but he's resume (outside of Pac) is very thin for someone some consider to be an ATG.

At 24 he was getting dropped by Darryl Pinckney (then 22-21-2) in a 10 round decision victory.

At 26 Marquez UD'd by Freddy Norwood (who never amounted to anything really) after getting dropped in a very close fight.

At 30 he won his first title-belt, a vacant title against a guy w/12 losses who had just lost his last fight.

At 32, he lost a close decision (no robbery) to Chris John where he was deducted 2 points for repeated low blows.

Thereafter, he didn't look great against a shot Barrera (who dropped him and who I thought beat him), Juan Diaz x 2, Katsidis (also dropped JMM), Mayweather (pitched a shutout and dropped him) etc. I'm not saying he didn't look good, but he didn't look great (outside of the Pac fights)--part of the reason why he was always in the shadow of his much more accomplished Mexican counterparts Barrera and Morales.
