I really dont know about the Marquez fight being FOTY material....and Morales is really the only "P4P" fighter he's fought since 2004.

I'm still not sold on Marquez being a legitimate top ten fighter, and we certainly can't call Velasquez one. But sure competitive Pac was and very dominant.

I still say while not overrated......he's ranked way too high.

a lot of fans and boxing expert alike consider PAC-JMM the 2nd best fight behind only to MAB-EM 3 of 2004 ...

IMHO JMM after the PAC-JMM 1 was p4p material, now with his recent competition, he at is the least within p4p top 20 ...

who would you put up there at no. 3 ???

I rank pac high because I am trying to focus on more recent accomplishments (careerwise pbf is not matched by anyone), and I am quite impressed with his improvement (I would not call him a "finesse boxer" like someone did, but he started using 2 hands and going to the body, at least he is now able to implement plans), which makes me think he would beat both jmm and mab in rematches.

mind you, I am very conscious this is just an opinion, and I have no problem with rating winky higher, he just beat mosley and tito after all. I think more light will be cast on pac position by morales' future.

oh yeah another thing: if hatton wins convincingly against another world-class opponent (say cotto or castillo) he is then in the mix for the top.

          and if toney beats rahman...

oh well... I love this sport

with the exception of jmm, who was a draw, morales, who was a good win and barrera who was a great win manny doesnt have huge names on his record. i also think this is the last division he will be champion. he shouldnt move up again. that being said, pac is top three easy
I was crackin up on this one. Thanks for the laugh. with the exception of JMM, Morales AND barrera.....LOL

Thats like saying if she didnt have pimples, wasnt fat, and didnt have nappy hair...she would be pretty. WTF? In other words, she's fuggin ugly...lol....

I guess De La Hoya shouldnt be one of the best cuz he only had Trinidad, Mosley, and Hopkins

I guess Sugar Ray Leonard shouldnt be one of the best cuz he only had Hearn, Hagler, and Duran.

I guess Ali shouldnt be one of the best cuz he only had Frazier, Foreman, and Norton

I guess, you get my point.....

Um, are you forgetting to add MAB to Pacs list?

Why are you not sold on Marquez? He's interchangeably top 3 within his own division...

JMM made pac look dumb in the ring, the only thing that saved pac from loosing that fight was the knockdowns. Also, although he looked great against EM II, he lost to EM, so in my eyes he has lost 2 of his most recent fights.

I can definitely see how people have Pacquiao top 2-3. Just the fact that he has knocked out two legends in his last handful of fights puts him in the top 5. What really drives him up there however is that he showed in the 2nd Morales fight that he is able to adapt. He came with a fight plan, lost some of the early rounds, started using the right hand and going to the body, and came out the victor.

Pacquiaos recent record, competition level, and performance level are top 2-3 p4p material.

Mayweather, Winky, then Pacquiao- if Manny keeps beating big names, he could eventually be #1, but to do so, he might have to go up in weight, which would probably not be a good move, but he's a badass, and you never can tell.
