He'll care when he's b*tching and moaning about no one caring.
EDIT: I always wonder why there are people on this site who think a boxing fan isn't really a fan if they don't like watching fighters who fight as boring as possible. You aren't a better fan just because you're pretending Crawford or Wlad were exciting yesterday, or that Hopkins' fouling is some kind of skill.Last edited by bojangles1987; 10-06-2013, 05:19 PM.Comment

So why didn't he stop the great Victoriano Sosa, Corley? How come Mayweather didn't finish Goyo Vargas? Oh, okay, I get it. Crawford now is all of a sudden Mayweather. Cool logic.
So again, Crawford was unimpressive against Prescott and the last guy he stopped at '35, right? So now he should get the boot and be labled a hype job because Klimov didn't want to fight. Pathetic.Comment

His opponents out weigh by 10-20lbs sometimes and are world or former world champions. Last night's opponents were neither. He's was bottom tier and should've been treated as suchComment

All I can say to Crawford about this mentality, is that, while the crowd can't dictate to you how to fight your fight, the crowd (and viewing public) can dictate if you'll be on TV again.
He had a guy in there massively overmatched - and really hesitant to fight back. He should have beat the breaks off of him instead of letting him make it to the end. Especially when you are fighting between some really exciting prospects like Verdejo and the main event guy. The idea is to stand out as a fighter on the undercard so people want to find out more about you.
I don't understand this mentality at all. It'll come to the point where he'll be a hard-sell for Poppa Arum and who knows what'll happen next. If I'm fighting on a card between two Ricans, one who is a star and the other who is a star in the making - I'm going for broke. Sh-- man, there were 12K people there yesterday.Comment

Mayweather was headlining fights on HBO already in those fights. And yes, I do think he has the talent to be a pound for pound talent and expect him to become one.So why didn't he stop the great Victoriano Sosa, Corley? Your state of thought is doing him no good. The media is trashing his performance. And its unfortunate because I know what this kid can do in the ring and what the fans saw last night doesn't do his skills and abilities justice. If you want the man to succeed you should want to see him win impressively.
But I guess your just one of those people that *****es, complains and makes excuses and then gets mad when he gets criticized and dismissed as a boring fighter. I've seen this happen too often before. Too many talented skilled fighters are being blackballed and dismissed by promoters because they stink up the place during the worst possible time.
When you are given a showcase fight, against THAT caliber of opponent, get him the **** out of there, gain some fans and make people want to see you fight again.Last edited by -PBP-; 10-06-2013, 05:38 PM.Comment

I agree! Crawford is crying but he deserves all the boos, he wasn't fighting a top level opponent, how that performance was justified is beyond me. He should have put him away yet he was too cautious, treating the guy like a champ.I agree with "fight your fight" but he had an opponent in there that he should have finished. He didn't have the power to hurt him, he landed single digit punches each round and he knew he couldn't win before the bell ring.
Everybody from Sweet Pea, to Floyd down to even Rigo finish these caliber of opponents. These are showcase fights and Crawford failed to show out.
I've seen bits of Crawford and he definitely has the skills but does he have the appetite for the fight game? People talk about Floyd and Wlad and so on, highly skilled fighters who can stink a place out at times, or perceive to but the fact is they have shown their killer instincts time and time again. Especially Floyd, he's shown a mean streak when he has needed to, against guys like Mosley, Ortiz, Corrales and at times Cotto. Floyd isn't all sparkles, he can be tough as nails when he needs to be and shown that he has an appetite for a fight. Crawford doesn't look to have that appetite. But we'll see in the fights to come.Comment

You're being overly dramatic. Crawford didn't set out to fight "as boring as possible" nor was he in there excessively clinching or committing fouls. The fact that you need to resort to extreme hyperbole to try and support your opinion should tell you something. He was in there with an awkward tentative fighter who was intent on just being there. Could Crawford had made the fight more exciting by throwing caution/defense to the wind and gone all out for the KO? Sure? Does the fact that he didn't ruin his chances of becoming a star in te sport? Absolutely not. He didn't give the most exciting performance last night, but by winning he's guaranteed himself another big pay day(for him), and another chance to impress against a more game opponent on a stage just as big or bigger. Some of you are acting as if he's killed his career or something. He'll care when he's b*tching and moaning about no one caring.
