I actually had never seen Hatton-Tszyu in it's entirety before, and this unintentionally ended up being a compuclinch project for me. I've never seen a guy string his clinch combos so well. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's one really long clinch of multiple clinches broken up by millisecond breaks. Some truly elite level stuff.

For example, in round 2 you have counted 12 clinches when in fact the ref only had to call 'break' 4 times (i.e. just 4 clinches).
That was the real issue in last weekend's fight, Wlad made no attempt to throw punches up close and his long arms and pulling down on his opponent's neck prevented Povetkin from throwing any. Pabon also would not let the fighters punch on the inside.

A clinch is a clinch. It doesn't matter if the ref doesn't break them. To claim there were only 4 clinches in that wrestling match of a round is ridiculous.

Aesthetically you might not like it, and I understand that but they are fighting, they're not just grabbing each other doing nothing. That ref would've been far better than Pabon, Povetkin would have at least got to land some body shots after he worked himself inside.

No, holding and hitting is illegal. It's even explicit in the Neveda Athletic Commission rules.
NAC 467.675 Acts constituting fouls in boxing. (NRS 467.030) The following acts constitute fouls in boxing:
1. Hitting below the belt.
2. Hitting an opponent who is down or is getting up after being down.
3. Holding an opponent with one hand and hitting with the other.
4. Holding or deliberately maintaining a clinch.

Freaken Smoger is part of the problem. He let this happen.
Smoger imo (and in that of others) is the best ref in the game. He should've penalised Alexander granted, but he's reffed a lot more than just one bout.
