At this point I feel Martinez is a full fledged middleweight and to big for cotto. Canelo makes more sense IMO.

He really wants that 4th title, and his 1st lineal. There's no better time to fight Sergio, coming off a big injury layoff and looking broken down in his last fight.

Moving back down is no big deal for a one off, like Floyd or Mosley fighting at 154 and going back down to their preferred weight. Or DLH at MW, etc

Despite his renaissance-of-sorts against Rodriguez I still fell that the Margarito rematch was Cotto's last great night.

The Martinez fight makes a lot of sense. Sergio has slipped and the middleweight pack circles. The old wounded lion of the 160lb division is vulnerable.

I'd root for Miguel against either man but a match-up against Maravilla could see me gladly proven wrong. What a way that would be, to bow out of the sport.
