Lol exactly. I'm glad he went in there and took care of business last night. Cotto did exactly what he was supposed to do.

Seeing how he looked against a fringe contender/no-hoper was kinda the point in the fight. At his best, C level fighters like Rodriguez had no chance against Cotto. So the fact that he's still worlds better than that level fighter points to him still being a legitimate threat to top lebel fighters.

Same **** diffrent toilet. He was shot when he fought Floyd. And if he signs on o fight Pac next, he'll magically once again become Ray Robinson and Henry Armstrong rolled into one.

I like Cotto but Floyd didn't take a beaten are you serious?? A bloody noise is not a beaten... Zab did better than Cotto did! And Emmanuel Augustus made him bleed as well and he got his ass whooped too.

Cotto won 3 rounds tops in that fight (6,8) and I am hard pressed to find any other round he won convincingly. Cut that crazy talk out though.

Cut the bull shyt! Floyd already schooled Cotto... And everybody is claiming Cotto was over the hill. Now two years later Cotto would knock Floyd out after one of his better performances?? Stop trolling man

I still want to see Cotto-Canelo though.

Ive always said Cottos biggest down fall is he has a weak mind. He gives up. Gets discouraged and the fire goes out. If he can keep the rage going...hed stop Trout and Alvarez. Sergio...well that may be pushing it. He did do a pretty good job with Floyd. But he stopped fighting and started surviving! Anyone can drop down. dont mean youre through. Thats where the term..."back to the basics" comes from.

Martinez is too fast and strong for Cotto.
Martinez is not faster than Cotto, not on his feet. Cotto can cut off the ring just as fast as anyone in the sport and Martinez is going to be coming off 2 knee surgeries at 37 or 38. He looks fast compared to guys weighing 170+ but he is not faster on his feet than Cotto. Martinez is not a brilliant boxer by any means, he has a Roy Jones style with dropping his hands and inviting you in. I see it as a competitive fight that Cotto would win, Sergio has been in some tough fights for a long time now. Williams, Pavlik, all the Euro MW's and Chavez Jr was a tough figh as well. Cotto isn't exactly fresh either but Roach and Cotto's new conditioning coach know (who happens to be Georges St. Pierre's as well) now how to get guys in shape he'll only be in better shape for his next fight.

My 2 cents . Roach got this dude in the best shape possible - point blank and as everyone can see his balance is very good ! All cotto needs is balance and confidence! He let the world know that he is still good . Cotto follows the game plan - he just has not had anyone that can give a splid game plan since his uncle left . The fight with manny to me has an asteric because cotto had no corner (I've been preaching this for a couple of years) but his balance was spot on - made rodriguez look clumsy and never gave rodriguez an opening to mount an attack - would like to see cotto in against trout nxt or Canelo - but you could tell by his attack that he had faith in his conditioning (mental)
