I agree. Josh threw some nice looking shots. He moved well, showed poise and didn't rush the kill. The only thing that concerned me -- and it's been pointed out by several others as well -- was his tendency to leave his chin out while throwing punches. Once again: the kid looked good, but it's impossible to predict his future based on one pro fight...or his amateur background, or even his first several pro fights against weak opposition.

I agree with that statement but how do we know they all have the viciousness and killer instinct it takes to do what Joshua did against even a entry level journeyman like the Italian?
New England's pet theory is that there are no great American heavyweights because all the big men are in the NFL and NBA. It's a theory I disagree with, but he's right about one thing: guys like Joshua are commonplace in those leagues.

I don't know how Max can tell Anthony is stronger and more athletic than LeBron just by meeting him. Did Kellerman run tests on both athletes? The question might be open as to who's stronger, but I have to believe a basketball superstar is probably more athletic.

I don't see what an extra 9 pounds will do for him. Joshua is plenty big already. Additional weight might be detrimental, in the form of decreased stamina and quickness.

Yeah his chin was out there but a lot of young pros tend to have that problem.

It's true, very difficult to tell how far he can go on the back of one fight but from what I've seen of him and having met him in person, he is just so calm, cool and most of all, willing to learn. He takes on board what everyone says but only follows what he believes to be right. That's a great trait to have. It will take him far as long as he keeps himself grounded. We've seen too many Olympians fall away due to them believing their own hype, Audley Harrison is a prime example.

I have to agree, if that Italian guy was American he would be a Midwest fighter.

These guys have impressive records but when you see them fight they have NO SKILL and it leaves you wondering where did they dig up the guys that this kid actually beat.

That being said I wish the Brit much success, but can really tell nothing from that outing but EVERYBODY has to crawl before they can run.

Good post.. but I think Joshua being almost a decade younger than Audley upon pro debut will make the difference.
