And only one guy who's name starts with a P and ends in 'man' has been dodging it since it was first announced.

No he didn't.

All Saureland take part in random blood testing, and they did this well before Floyd.

Other fighters that have turned down blood testing at the request of their opponents, Andre Ward, Hopkins, Wlad, Marquez, and Holyfield, but Evan was doped to the eyeballs.

i think joe gans is often credited with "creating" the jab. not that he was the first fighter to throw a straight punch with the lead hand but rather understanding the value of using it to control range, pace, to set up other punches and keep your opponent at bay. gans was also a prominent feinter, wouldnt say he invented the feint since that like the jab is impossible to track. but he did take it to another level.

corbett was one of the pioneers of technical boxing in a time when most ppl fought like rock em sock em robots, especially in the HW division. jack johnson brought it to another level, they both relied on the jab and movement unlike the other HWs of that time. only corbett was praised for it though, johnson being black was accused of fighting cowardly while corbett was given credit for fighting smart.

kid gavilan made the bolo punch popular. archie moore had a very special style that few fighters have used since, i cant think of anyone before him boxing in the same manner although i could very well be wrong.

ali didnt invent his style, but he was the first to use it in the HW division and has been mimicked countless times since so i think he deserves some props.

as does james toney, floyd mayweather and bernard hopkins. they far from invented their respective styles but they did bring back some lost arts of boxing and floyd of course is the most mimicked fighter today, so in a sense they brought the old school back.

jack johnson was the first guy to use his tremendous size for defense.

he'd catch shots, fend guys off with an open glove and an outstretched arm, he rolled his shoulders, and he'd pot shot when guys got close. he was so strong that he could easily tie people up.

funny how some things never change Lenny Dykstra got the nickname "nails" for being tough as nails for putting his body on the line and playing all out where as Eric Davis and Ken Griffey Jr were called injury prone

Tucan McGinty was the first fighter to primarily work behind the jab. People didn't see the point in it as it didn't carry much power. However, Tucan showed that it could be used to open up opponents so the big punch could land.

Actually, negotiations between May and Pac involving Olympic style random blood and urine testing started back in 2009.

was he a HW? last time i checked he wasnt so whats your point?

i said ali far from invented his style but he was the first HW to use it and since then countless other HWs did the same. that was the point and he was innovative to do so as well, not only had it never been done before by a big man but it gave him a great advantage for a long time as other HWs werent used to it.

besides, while he did take a lot from SRRs style he far from copied it. like most successful fighters his style was a blend from several different fighters, SRR was just the one he took the most from.
